Hi, John with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Kit on our 2019 Chevy Volt. So one of the nice things about this kit is that when it's not in use, you don't see it. It actually gets stored inside the compartment here. And when you do need it, just go ahead and grab it, drape it over your weather stripping. Of course you want to avoid the latch and everything but it's perfectly fine to go ahead and close it. more

Curt Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Kit Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Volt- Video
Hi there Volt owners, today in our 2012 Chevrolet Volt, we're going to be installing CURT's Four-pole Flat Trailer Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness. This will provide you with all the lighting functions that you need for any accessory that you have on the back of your vehicle. So when you got your cargo carrier on, they're loaded up with gear that may be blocking your tail lights. The lights on your cargo carrier can be illuminated, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all States. Now you do want to keep in mind that this harness is really for accessories on this vehicle, because it's not recommended to tow with your Chevy Bolt. Located on the end of our connector, you'll find a dust cap that can be inserted on it to keep out any dirt, debris and moisture to ensure a long lasting connection.The circuits are protected by the module that's located inside. more

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Volt, you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install, the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. You can see it's going to live inside of the vehicle. When you're ready to use it, you just want to make sure, you want to over top this rubber seal inaudible 00:00:19 from any connection points. Take out as much as you need, close your hatch, hook it up to your trailer.When you're done using it, simply roll it up. You can either store it right back in your back hatch area or lift your floor coverings up and store it right down in a compartment. more

Our Tekonsha wiring harness here has more power output than our CURT wiring harness does. On our stop and turn signal circuits, we have a total power output of five amps per side. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Volt, we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118726. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see we have an adequate length of wire that reaches down right next to our receiver hitch. Now this wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer.This white wire here provides the necessary ground connection between our bolt and our trailer. This brown wire here is our taillight and running light circuit. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Volt- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2011 Chevrolet Volt we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the upgraded ModuLite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with 4 Pole trailer connector, part number 119147KIT.So here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to give us a 4 pole flat trailer connector and it's giving us all the required lights to go down the road, such as the clearance lights, brake lights and turn signals. The wiring is going to stay and live on the inside of our car and when we're not using it, we can easily lift up the floor covering panel here and store it underneath where our spare tire and our battery is.When we are ready to use it, we're just going to drop it out the back of our hatch and the seal here is going to provide enough cushion that it won't damage the wires, so long as we stay away directly from the latch mechanism itself. As you can see we're going to have plenty of length to hook up to our trailer whenever we need to. Now that we've seen what it looks like once it's installed, let's show you how we got it there.To begin our installation we're going to need to come to our rear hatch, open it up, and we're going to need to take out the floor coverings. We can grab the handle, lift up and we actually lift up on the back section as well, unlock it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Volt- Video
Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Volt, we're going to show you the Upgraded Modulite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with the 4-Pole Trailer Connector, part number 119147KIT. These are the parts you get that are included in the kit. First off, we have our module right here. This actually gets hardwired into the wire harness of the vehicle. It does come with the provided quick splice connectors for that purpose. Also, it comes with a small light tester to help identify the circuits of the wire. Our module does need power from a 12-volt power supply or the battery. more
